Plot Summary:
|
In the day one of the times, God created life into territory: light gave birth to angels, loam to men and shoot to djin, creatures condemned to dwell in the disestablish between the worlds. One who wakes a djin shall be given three wishes. Upon granting the third, an unholy legion of djins are freed through a doorway between the worlds upon the Mould. In 1127 A.D., in Persia, a sorcerer lures and traps a important Djinn in the stone of secret fire. In the present days, a drunken crane operator drops the valuable ikon of Ahura Mazda on the assistant of Raymond Beaumont on the harbor, and one p... roletarian finds the immense and priceless opal red stone where Djin is seized. Alexandra Amberson, who works in an auction house, receives the stone for assessment and accidentally awakes Djin. The infelicitous creature is released later, charges the stone with people souls and feeds with their fears, while chasing Alexandra to army to make three wishes and unleash the demoniac fiends upon Earth.

I will take your soul
Well this is gory horror at it's best (worst?). Typical Wes Craven fare, which is great if you're a fan - which i am!
I'm entertained by the series of Wishmaster films due to them being progressively worse one by one.
This first instalment gives you the background of the Djinn and there are some guest appearances by some famous names - Freddy and Jason! Don't get excited though, it's just Robert Englund and Kane Hodder in normal make-up.
You will get extra points for spotting Kane without his mask.
All in all it's very good if you're a horror fan who doesn't want too much from their films.
Andrew At His Finest
This is the film that got me add addicted to Andrew Divoff. The SFX are brilliant and a great range of horror actors includeing Ted Raimi, Robert Englund, Tony Todd, Kane Hodder and the voice of Angus Scrimm (Tall Man Phantasm films) I would recommended film to any one who loves a good gory feast.
