Plot Summary:
|
The descendants of the first ones to travel space are regarded as people of lesser importance. Half a millennium after the first ships launched in search of a safer life, the Pilgrims still are discriminated. When the Kilrathi declare struggle against the benign race, it is up to Christopher Blair, Pilgrim halfling, to help steer clear of culminate annihilation. Since the Kilrathi managed to conquer a Navcom unit, they know the jump coordinates to Ground. And since the terran fleet is two hours over away from home than the Kilrathi naval task force, the contrariwise trust of Mankind is to put... up trust in a Medieval history palmer, who can astrogate past feeling and does not need a Navcom portion - it's all genetics.

What's new pussy cat?!!!!!!!!!!
Well it would seem... not much at all having watched this. This film is awful for all the very, very good reasons pointed out, in not only the critic's review but also those who felt the need to write in after watching it. However just to counter one review above, this film is a terrible version of the games i played as wee lad. For one they starred Mark Hamill (luke...use the force) and second they had big cats who were as cool as.....CATS!! Not slaphead plastic ones, like this film used. So if your thinking (like i did) 'I just wonder how they made it into a film for the screen'....don't! Meow!!!
Wing Commander
Super Mario Brothers, Streetfighter - you'd think people would learn the lesson, wouldn't you? Nope - director Roberts's attempt to make a coherent movie out of a video game is no more successful than any previous effort. Some unimpressive aliens want to take over the Earth, some unimpressive actors bat them off with speedy little spaceships. British character players in minor roles get to pay off their mortgages, and even Mark Hamil (one of the principal voice artists of the video game) is allowed to have a bit part. British viewers may be amused that the name of the trigger-happy hero is Blair.
