When Worlds Collide
From War of the Worlds impresario George Intimate terms with, this paranoid allegory around Mould's threatening crash with a easy planet — the exclusively hope of survival being a Noah's Ark expedition to a aide moon — is a prime exempli gratia of 1950s information fiction. Compensating for the bland screenplay and generally uninspired irregularity are the Oscar-pleasant special effects — primarily the destruction of Redesigned York — and Rudolph Maté's extraordinary direction, which exploits the "end of the world" concept to the climax.
