Plot Summary:

Director, writer, and producer Nancy Meyers's (THE Progenitrix TRAP) sophomore directorial effort is a lively screwball fantasy featuring Mel Gibson in his first romantic comedy. Gibson plays Beat it Marshall, a peak-flying chauvinistic Chicago advertising manager who, like his melodious icon, Candid Sinatra, calls women "baby" and believes he has the world on a lead. Take to one's heels experiences a impertinent awakening when the creative president position he coveted goes to Darcy Maguire (Helen Track down), a savvy vicinage--and a woman--who intends to aggressively devote the lucrative wom... en's Stock Exchange. While dispiriting to brainstorm ideas for "feminine" products, Nick experiences a monster extra that gives him the ability to hear women's thoughts. Unfaltering to win back his stolen farm out, Appropriate uses his scary the fact functional late-model talent to analyse Darcy and finds his … la mode, pleasing rival may not be the "bungle on wheels" he imagined. During the interval, he also must maneuver carefully within complex relationships with his estranged teenage daughter, Alex (Ashley Johnson), and a pretty coffee snitch on waitress, Lola (Marisa Tomei). Once Nick begins to hear to the unripe voices he hears, his previous worldview is challenged, and he finds that he at the last moment might understand what women want.

More lamentable though is not the 80s-style battle of the sexes theme but the lazy script. Although brimming with funny asides (usually highlighting Nick's borderline misogyny) the ...
What Women Want
Because his character does nothing but wrong, it's necessary to believe that actor Mel Gibson does everything right to fully enjoy his new starring vehicle, What Women Want.
A picture constructed with Mel-aholics in mind, What Women Want is a vaguely amusing formulaic comedy with a premise that turns out to be more discomforting than endearing: that chauvinistic Chicago advertising executive Nick Marshall (Gibson) suddenly finds himself with the ability to literally hear what women think.
What Women Want is written by The King of Queens supervising producers Josh Goldsmith & Cathy Yuspa and directed by Nancy Meyers, who co-wrote and directed the enjoyable Parent Trap remake of a few years back. But despite its contemporary "women rule" window dressing, its fou...
