Plot Summary:
|
"I'll always put one's hands finance for you," single father O2 tells his childlike son Lower. This parental promise is put to the check when O2 is rapidly plunged into a do-or-die status quo; trying to go straight for Secondary's sake, this recently paroled ex-con is forced to go back outside the law after his son is kidnapped in a carjacking. The resulting pursuit and shootout have Inferior in the hands of Essence, the brutal principal of the Outlaw Tantamount to. O2's shady cousin Lucky tries to mediate, but is caught between criminal and one's nearest loyalties. The single person who can... or determination help O2 get his son back is wily street-smart hustler Coco, whose path fatefully crossed O2's just moments before the kidnapping. When Lucky gets word to O2 that Meat expects $100,000 for Secondary's freedom, O2 and Coco seize the opportunity to pit rival elements of the South Los Angeles underworld against each other. "It's either all or nothing," realizes O2. With the clock ticking down, the heat between O2 and Coco rises as they turn a lawbreaking couple, on an score by way of a register of Los Angeles neighborhoods. Can they outwit the underworld and save Junior and themselves?

"Not at all throw your hands on a skirt," warns ex-con O2 (Gibson) as he thumps the bejesus out of another faceless goon. It's okay, though, because besides his tendency to confute violence with violence and a roving eye that's mimicked on camerawork so libidinous it leaves no cleavage projectile uncovered, O2 is still emphatically the permissible guy. How do we distinguish? For a start he's hopeless to go straight, but the streets won't let him. He's also the single parent of improbably wide-eyed cutie Younger (Hall), whose babymomma ran while O2 was in the clink. Absolutely, he dispenses braindead, bull-headed but defiantly PC advice (assist ), with a perpetual sneer at the depravity of the gang life he's trying - and sans - to abstain from behind. ...
