France is scary!
Set in WWII, this animated movie portrays the life of a little pigeon with a big heart named Valiant. Wanting more out of his life he decides to leave the nest and join the Homing Pigeon Service. But life was never going to be easy for the little pigeon but he proves that spirit and heart is all one needs to be a hero!
Valiant doesnt try to be anything it isnt unlike so many other animations, and comes jam packed with a great sense of British humour. McGregor, Gervais and Cleese are the perfect voices for their respective parts to make this an all round good British animation that holds it own. It does have a certain charm that most of its competition fails to comprehend. It may not be the fanciest, most exciting animation, but its solid, and most of all British.
Valiant
British computer-animated cartoon about a humble bird with a lot of pluck who joins the Royal Air Force Homing Pigeon Service during World War II. With the voices of Ewan McGregor, Ricky Gervais and John Cleese

Set in England during World War II, Gary Chapman's film tells of a humble wood pigeon (voiced by McGregor) with dreams of joining the RAF's elite Homing Pigeon Service. These plucky poultry risk life and wing carrying messages across the English Channel to occupied France. But their numbers are being depleted by Germany's crack Falcon brigade, led by the evil General Von Talon (Cur...
Valiant
Leslie FelperinLackluster CGI toon Valiant features an all-avian cast of characters and top-flight British vocal talent to spoof fondly WWII fly-boy dramas like "The Battle of Britain." However, despite a handful of good aerial "birdfight" sequences, Valiant fails to get off the ground due to a by-numbers script and dodo-ugly character design that add up to less than one would expect from Shrek producer John H. Williams. Thanks to strong marketing in the U.K., pic looked set to soar at the B.O. in its Easter weekend opening there, but may lay an egg in the U.S. upon its August 19 release, leaving Buena Vista/Disney to feather its nest with ancillary.
Based loosely on the fact real-life carrier pigeons played a significant role during WWII, the pic plays the classic r...
