Plot Summary:
|
Prepared in the late 21st century, a subculture of humans have emerged who have been modified genetically by a vampire-like ailment (hemophagia), giving them enhanced hurriedness, preposterous starch and fierce intelligence. As they are definite separately from "healthy, healthful" humans, the world is pushed to the rim of worldwide civil war (a war between humans and hemophages) aimed at the destruction of the diseased folk. In the heart of this crossfire is an infected lady, Ultraviolet, who finds herself protecting a nine-year-loved caitiff public schoolmate who has been unmistakable appro... priate for ruin beside the soul government as he is believed to be a presage to humans.

Gene SeymourIn moviegoing's olden days, something like Ultraviolet would be considered a "quickie": a genre flick that had nothing on its mind except tying together as many motifs as it could from other movies in its genre and making things move quick and dirty.
Maybe if you'd never seen The Matrix, X-Men or Kill Bill (or their respective sequels), you might find Ultraviolet totally original.
Then again, if you'd never seen Matrix or Bill, you might not be inclined to see Ultraviolet in the first place.

People saying this is 'crap', what were they expecting? Shakespeare? It's a fantastic fun piece of light entertainment. Beautifully directed and very stylish. First rate sci fi fun at it's most accessible and enjoyable
