Plot Summary:
|
"The Facts About Mr. Valdeman." A daily's husband is on his deathbed, and a psychiatrist with whom she's having an affaire d'amour hypnotizes him so they can get on him to sign all his money over to his wife before he dies. The hide dies when he is stillness in a trance and becomes stuck between the two worlds, and seeks her and release. "The Furious Cat." A forensic photographer resents his girlfriend bringing a stray cat stamping-ground. He dispatches the little furball, only to determine out-dated he can't rid himself of it that readily. Based on stories by E. A. Poe.
Two awe segments base... d on Edgar Allan Poe stories set in and around the city of Pittsburgh. "The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar" concerns a cheating wife who is maddening to scam her fading fast out of millions by having her doctor/hypnotist lover transport the geezer into signing his dough throughout to her. The unused man dies while beneath the waves hypnosis and is stuck in the limbo between the here and the hereafter. The door to the physical Terra is opened and the undead assault to enter it. "Black Cat" is the story of Rodd Usher, an barfly photographer/artist, who descends into madness after he kills a dogie cat that his live-in girlfriend Annabelle brings home.
