Tuesdays with Morrie
Mitch Albom's history of his afternoons consumed chewing the fat with his old college professor became a fixture on the US bestseller lists. It's not an down-to-earth hard-cover to adapt and there are moments here when the fortune-cookie feeling threatens to look like over. But thanks to Mick Jackson's reactive handling and Theo van de Sande's nostalgically try Boston vistas, this is an old-fashioned, heart-warming delight. Hank Azaria impresses as the workaholic sports penny-a-liner who regains a sense of perspective auspices of his mentor's bon mots. But this is Jack Lemmon's be visible, as he dexterously portrays both Morrie Schwartz's diplomate degenerate and his zest for get-up-and-go.
