Plot Summary:
|
Mortimer and Randolph Duke are commodity brokers who enjoy a scarcely wager now and then. For the latest bet, Randolph believes they can learn a conventional felon and make him a successful businessman in the company. The criminal, Billy Ray, is to be given the job and home of Louis, who in squeal on is set up towards crimes he didn't commit, to see if he resorts to misdemeanour formerly he's demolished his rich environment and friends.

Director John Landis was responsible for severak key cultish late 1970s/early 1980s titles - Animal House, The Blues Brothers, An American Werewolf In London. With Trading Places he achieved big-time box office success. Unexpectedly enduring, the result is an enjoyable showcase for a troupe of comic actors at the peak of their powers, and the sharp script takes satirical swipes at Wall Street, racism and the 1980s "greed-is-good" ethos.

Another Classic Film of the 80's
I must for re-watchers, and a great film for first timers to the film. Classic comedy, Great star cast. Not a perfectly directed film, but hey were any in the 80's? ;-)
