Plot Summary:
|
Seven years after a adventurous bank robbery involving an anti-tank gun used to waste unclinched a vault, the thievery team temporarily puts aside their mutual suspicions to repeat the offence after they are unfit to find the haul from the unique heist, hidden behind a equip chalkboard. The hardened artilleryman and his flippant, reckless young sidekick are the two wild cards in the deck of jokers.

Thunderbolt and Lightfoot
Eastwood's best non-western movie and Cimino's great launch as reporter-director. A crook posing as a preacher is tracked down by former cohorts and rescued by means of Lightfoot (Bridges). Two themes: the continuing chase by those who want specie from an earlier heist and the relationship between the duo, which has a gay sub-part (Lightfoot composed gets into lug for a date with Thunderbolt). But the older man tells his partner that it's years too late for the benefit of fellowship. When Lightfoot is fading fast as a conclusion of the mob's brutality, his spouse buys him a white Cadillac, in which he dies, leaving Eastwood, as so usually in his movies, alone.
