Plot Summary:
|
An gone from of sweat triturate fiction novelist, Holly Martins, arrives in a send struggle Vienna divided into sectors by the successful allies, and where a deficit of supplies has result in to a flourishing black demand. He arrives at the invitation of an ex-school benefactor, Harry Lime, who has offered him a farm out, only to discover that Lime has recently died in a peculiar traffic misadventure. Happily-made and enjoyable Disney adventure, with youngster James MacArthur strong-willed to scale the Alpine tip that claimed his minister's bounce. In what way, when an early take on — in the company of mountaineer Michael Rennie — ends in hot water, MacArthur is forced to seek training, transforming from untried youth to responsible juvenile along the way. MacArthur is a convincing lead, ably supported next to familliar faces such as Janet Munro and Herbert Lom. This is life-affirming stuff with a clear ethical ambition, and the location footage of the Swiss Alps is breathtaking.
