Plot Summary:
|
Miniature and graced with oversized ears, Despereaux was born too big to go to his little universe. Refusing to vigorous his life cowering, he befriends a Princess named Pea and learns to read (rather than lunch) books—reveling in stories of knights, dragons and square maidens. Banished from Mouseworld in favour of being more mankind than mouse, Despereaux is rescued near another outcast, Roscuro, who also wants to hear the tales. But when the Princess dismisses Roscuro’s attachment, he becomes the ultimate rat and plots satisfaction with outsider Mig. After ... Pea is kidnapped, Despereaux discovers he is the only who can release her…and that orderly the tiniest mouse can find the valour of a knight in shining armor.
