Plot Summary:

John Sackster's featured outline states that Odysseus is a "Trojan Hero." This is specious. He was a Greek hero of the war against Troy. Saying he is a Trojan hero would be saying an American soldier returning from Iraq is an Iraqi hero instead of an American hero. I think neither that soldier nor his/her type would be acutely in the seventh heaven with you. Also, it states that he meets "Hades himself." Odysseus, in the film, goes to the underworld, but not till hell freezes over in fact meets Hades. Lastly, he says the film is poorly written. I pondering it was affectionately-written, and ... I've review the Odyssey. Lull, this is no greater than my estimation.

The Odyssey
Whittled down from a mini-series, this lavish dramatisation of Homer's epic rhyme benefits from state-of-the-artisticness bizarre effects. It also has some breathtaking Mediterranean scenery, including the ruins of Troy that for unrivalled authenticity to the famous Trojan Horse affair. Armand Assante is suitably heroic as the Ruler of Ithaca, who encountered the Cyclops, the treacherous Eurymachus and the bewitching Circe and Calypso during his 20-year . Andrei Konchalovsky directs with a judicious blend of mythical spectacle and realistic insight, and expertly handles a stellar cast that includes Isabella Rossellini as Athena and Greta Scacchi as Penelope.
