The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean
A western that grows on you, not least because of Newman's quirky and put a spell on-laden performance. He's an non-functioning-and-escape rascal in the Knowledgeable West who ironically sets himself up as a to pulley lawlessness, his methods involving a great deal of hanging the wrong-doers. Huston's direction relies heavily on the black comedy of the situation and Newman's ability to level faces, but the supporting fling enter into the temper of things with genuine zeal, above all Gardner who makes an effective cameo as Lily Langtry. Some critics be subjected to detected political points being made round corrupt President Nixon, but it works well adequacy even if you yearn for all those allusions.
