The That Time Forgot is a 2009 proficiency fiction fog before The Asylum. The film is a modern modification of the 1918 timeless Edgar Rice Burroughs novel of the same name, and a re-make of the 1975 Amicus film starring Doug McClure. As with numberless recent Asylum films, this authority be considered a mockbuster, made to capitalize on a larger-budgeted fade away with a similar honour - in this prove the upcoming Come to rest of the Squandered.
Edgar Rice Burroughs's 1918 novel forms the basis for this enjoyable adventure romp, with square-jawed McClure the commanding officer of a battalion of British sailors who capture a German U-boat during the First World War. The sub takes a wrong turn and ends up on the remote Isle of Caprona, an island populated by dinosaurs and monkey-men, and prone to volcanic explosions. The special effects are laughable, but the script, co-written by acclaimed science fiction writer Moorcock, is meatier than one might expect, and the action scenes before we get to the island are stylish and convincing.
