The Ghost Breakers
Bob Hope in a haunted house, and it's a gear difficulty that the comedy writes itself because there is little evidence of anyone bothering to order this. Paired again with Goddard after their success in The Cat and the Canary, Desire follows her to an islet off Cuba, where she has inherited her family home. There are steer-ins with zombies and ancestors, and a search for hidden treasure. Foresee gets scores of opportunity to do his cowardly thing, which is fine and predictable, but there's not one of the jitteriness or horror of some of the better examples of comedy-animus, a popular genre of the period.
