The Gauntlet
'Big .45 quality fruit! Macho mentality!' - Eastwood answerable to siege as Sondra Locke leads the blitz on his monolithic...
The Gauntlet
In a manner, this was Eastwood's fixed reprise of his Dirty Harry character as an actor, and one of his matrix 'dumb cop' films as numero uno. Eastwood (soporific) is ordered from Phoenix to Las Vegas to extradite hooker Locke (irritating), who is to testify in a trial. The two of them decide to flee both gangsters and the coppers across the surroundings, hijacking buses, bikes and police officers cars while, naturally, falling in love. The notable effects cost $1 million dollars alone, but they are not enough to cover the holes in the allotment, stock characters and predictably bloody thrills. In any case, it made more than $17 million dollars.
