Plot Summary:

"The Dunwich Dread" is a cut story by H. P. Lovecraft. Written in 1928, it was win initially published in the April 1929 issue of Weird Tales (pp. 481-508). It takes place in Dunwich, a fictional town in Massachusetts. It is considered one of the core stories of the Cthulhu Mythos.

Italian horror movie maestro Lucio Fulci once more wheels out the zombies. This time they're threatening the folk of a town built on the remains of Salem
Following his Zombie Flesh Eaters, Lucio Fulci, the prolific Italian maker of low-cost horror, dug up some more cadavers for this, the second in a quartet of zombie films. City Of The Living Dead tells of how the suicide of Father Thomas, a priest at the small town of Dunwich in New England, causes a gate into hell to be opened beneath the town, and the dead to rise. This predicament has something to do with the fact that Dunwich is built on the remains of Salem, site of innumerable 'witch'-burnings. It's hardly clear, but that hardly matters.
