The Calcium Kid
Dim-witted documentary-style comedy that lacks a hit man awl.
The Calcium Kid
Orlando Bloom fails to blossom in his first advise-Lord of the Rings release, playing a milkman-turned-boxer in a dire British comedy that completely lacks mettle. The daft theorize has Bloom so fond of the white bits he delivers that his bones must become rock carefully as a result. When Bloom accidentally KOs Britain's top challenger in a sparring bout, he becomes the next in line of work appropriate for a shot at the unbelievable title. Reminiscent of the 1936 Harold Lloyd agency The Milky Progress (remade in 1946 with Danny Kaye as The Kid from Brooklyn), this feels a tad prehistoric hat and is ploddingly foreseen, while Bloom is wasted in a lines that requires him to do little more than look vacantly cute.
