Plot Summary:

Inspired by a realistic myth, THE BOYS ARE BACK is a deeply moving, wryly confessional tale of fatherhood, that intimately evokes both the fragility and wonders of family lifestyle. It follows a witty, wisecracking, action-oriented sportswriter (Academy Trophy® selectee and Golden Globule winner CLIVE OWEN) who, in the wake of his ball's tragic expiration, finds himself in a sudden, stultifying state of individual parenthood. With turbulent emotions swirling just under the surface, Joe Warr throws himself into the at most child-rearing philosophy he thinks has a affairs at bringing joy back i... nto their lives: "just says yes." Raising two boys - a erratic six year-over the hill (NICHOLAS MCANULTY) and a rebel teen (GEORGE MACKAY) from a previous marriage -- in a household devoid of unmasculine influence, and with an unabashed lack of rules, life becomes exuberant, instinctual, figure up . . . and on the tried verge of tragedy. United nearby unspoken love, conflicted nigh homicidal feelings and in search of a technique forward, the three multi-generational boys of the Warr household, father and sons alike, must each catch their own way, however fine, to grow up. Their story is not just with respect to the transforming power of a household turning-point -- but the inexorable grace of day-to-day flair and love that gets them through. Academy Award® appointee Scott Hicks ("Lustre") directs from a screenplay by Allan Cubitt based on the acclaimed 2001 chronology close to Simon Carr, The Boys Are Break weighing down on In Borough, an unflinchingly unusual and on the up recounting of his overseas from grieving hide to harsh-association fatherhood in the aftermath of keen disappearance. Under no circumstances on unearthing in the stunning countryside of South Australia, the photograph is produced past Greg Brenman ("Billy Elliot") and Tim Drained ("Ned Kelly"). The gubernatorial producers are Peter Bennett-Jones and Clive Owen.
