Plot Summary:
|
Based on a true story, Tod Lubitch is born with a incomplete inoculated structure (which is unlike being born with AIDS). As such, he must spend the stay of his ‚lan in a from the word go sterile environment. His room is completely hermetically sealed against bacteria and virus, his scoff is specially prepared, and his barely human contact comes in the form of gloved hands. The movie follows his life into a teenager.

The Boy in the Plastic Bubble
Based on actual events, this teleplay became responsibility of another true-life catastrophe when John Travolta's lover, Diana Hyland, who won an Emmy for her portrayal of his old lady, died of cancer within a year of its let go. The post of a teenager born with an on the qui vive invulnerability deficiency was something of a risk allowing for regarding Travolta, who was then cutting a style as Vinnie Barbarino in the sitcom, Entitled Sponsor, Kotter. But his combination of dauntlessness and vulnerability does him credit, while Randal Kleiser (who would direct him in Grease) avoids undue schmaltz in depicting his relationship with neighbour Glynnis O'Connor.
