The Black Hole
"...The idiosyncratic effects are fancy, and the design temperate more so....As waggish books go, this one is appealing much a sheet-turner."
The Black Hole
It seems strange now, but there was a time in the 1970s when Disney seemed to take lost its magic touch, and this unwieldy sci-fi epic didn't really succeed in halting the diminution of the while. It's actually not too upset, boasting some stunning special effects and an intriguing story about a disturbed scientist (Maximilian Schell) who is about to analyse boldly where no gentleman's gentleman has been before into a black depression in lacuna. The lob is dependable — Anthony Perkins, Ernest Borgnine, Yvette Mimieux — but it's all a bit composed.
