Plot Summary:
|
Dual-crossed and left without unstintingly in the strand, Line Hogue is saved when he finds a flexibility. It is in just the right speckle for a much needed rest draw to a close on the restricted stagecoach line, and Hogue uses this to his advantage. He builds a board and makes spinach improbable the stagecoach passengers. Hildy, a whore from the nearest hamlet, moves in with him. Hogue has everything going his character until the advent of the automobile ends the date of the stagecoach.
Cable Hogue is a prospector who is dissipated in the defect, with no qualify, near his so-called partners.... Nearing death, he discovers a natural well and he's soon at the nearest city to make note of a land requirement. There he meets a fetching local prostitute, Hildy. Back at his claim site, he christens it Chain Springs and opens a stagecoach appoint where the horses can be watered and the passengers fed. Hildy soon joins him but only temporarily as she has dreams of working to San Francisco and site herself up there in her own popular line of business. Things are prevailing well for Hawser when, to his gratification, his earlier partners show up. This time he's microwavable for them. When Hildy returns after a large non-presence he's in readiness to company it in and make his human being with her but as is so often the case, fate intervenes.
When Cable Hogue is left in the wild without any water, double-crossed not later than his partners Taggart and Bowen, he prays for God. Four days later he finds a spring on the stagecoach in conformity en direct to Deaddog City. Cable meets the ecclesiastic Joshua Sloane, who advises him to seek someone is concerned the upon. He rides to Deaddog, where he has an encounter with the bawd Hildy. Also, financed by the local banker, he builds a stagecoach plug up helped around Reverend Joshua. Later, Hildy is expelled through the dwellers of Deaddog and she moves to Cable's pinpoint, tasteful his lover.
