Plot Summary:
|
A parentage. Rose and Norah, in Albuquerque, lost their take care of when they were young. Rose is responsible - a housecleaner, raising her seven-year-stale son Oscar. She's also having an operation love affair with Mac, a married cop, her elevated-instil tumefy. Norah can't hold a bother. Their dad, Joe, is quirky. When Oscar is expelled for kinky behavior, Rose wants to earn ample to send him to antisocial school. Mac suggests she clean up after felony scenes, suicides, and deaths that spin undiscovered in spite of awhile. Rose enlists Norah, and Sunshine Cleaners is born. Norah bonds with... the dead, Rose finds out that it's a regulated house, and complications rise. Can a family marked by misfortune sort things at large?

Step up, Sundance Film Festival, you've got a lot to answer for. For every small but perfectly formed gem that reminds us what independent American cinema is capable of at its finest, there's a film out there featuring a loose grab-bag of familiar characters engaging in a series of wilfully quirky scenarios that gamely pretends to hang together in a structured narrative as it dances to its own indie soundtrack. Sunshine Cleaning has more in common with the second category, but is just about saved by its own considerable charm and an engaging cast who do good work with a meandering script.
