Starman
A not entirely deserving flop from Escape From New York director John Carpenter. Jeff Bridges plays an alien on the run from the authorities who becomes increasingly attracted to earth women

Star Trek: The Motion Picture had the satellite returning home, all cross and hyperevolved; the title character of Starman (Bridges) obviously interpreted it as a request for a date - this sci-fi romance sees him landing on our little blue planet in the form of the dead husband of a beautiful widow (Allen), and asking for her aid to escape the G-Men - who doubtless want to examine his genitals and generally poke about inside him.

Original
This film remains a strong contender in the sci fi genre.
Good acting and credible storyline (apart from the somewhat overplayed military sequences).
Good quality entertainment.
