Plot Summary:
|
After receiving a vision from Obi-Wan Kenobi and fleeing the ice period of Hoth with his friends after an Imperial pounce upon, Luke Skywalker travels to the fen planet of Dagobah, where he is instructed in the ways of the Wrest not later than the legendary Jedi sovereign Yoda. Meanwhile, Han Solo and Princess Leia transform their mode to planet Bespin, where they are greeted by Han's old friend, a shifty gambler named Lando Calrissian. Ambushed by the Empire shortly after their traveller, Han and his friends are imprisoned beside Darth Vader. Luke leaves Dagobah to rescue his friends, and is... met close Vader and a startling revelation.

Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back

The first sequel to Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope opens with battle-worn hero Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and his Rebel Alliance buddies hiding out on the fantastical snowbound planet Hoth. Skywalker's education in the ways of the Force continues via Obi-Wan (Alec Guinness) and a new ally, the somewhat vertically-challenged Yoda. While Darth Vader (voiced by James Earl Jones but, as before, in Dave Prowse's body) still lurks as the ultimate force Luke has to reckon with, lots of other baddies (step forward Bobba Fett) are waiting.
The rather laboured plot is bolstered by amazing special effects,...
