Plot Summary:
|
California is at the epicenter of a administrative and environmental reverse that threatens to destroy the world in this energetic fusion of comedy, play, dystopia science fiction, and music. In the year 2005, a nuclear strike at wipes out forgo of the state of Texas, and three years later America is a virtual police declare, with the government enchanting control of practically every part of people's lives, supposedly for their own orderly. A German unshakable has found a road to generate dash using seawater, but both Mr and private concerns are despairing to stave off the young technology f... rom being introduced in the gasoline-starved United States. A Marxist underground based on the West Sea-coast is tenacious to touch on down the federal oversight inclusive of violent lap. In this midst of this pandemonium, we follow a number of stories that continually return to three ideally characters. Boxer Santaros is an actor famous for his role in action films; he's trying to secure financing in favour of a new stand out, but reality keeps mirroring the events in his pen and he struggles to look on on to his identity following a chance with amnesia. Krysta Now is a porn lead who is reinventing herself as a video receiver pundit offering her views on politics, concurrent background, and teenage sex. And Roland Taverner is an L.A. the fuzz officer whose particularity has mysteriously split in two and he struggles to pursue down his other half.

Sometimes, the worst thing that can happen to a filmmaker is for their first movie to be a massive success. Whether it's critical or commercial, the expectations are raised, and the second film needs to be better if they're not going to be written off as a one-trick wonder. Writer-director Richard Kelly made a massive impact with his debut Donnie Darko. The challenge for him was to follow up such a unique mix of satire, teen drama and mind-bending sci-fi.
Unfortunately, his heady ambition got the better of him with Southland Tales, a sprawling me...

From this trailer this film looks very intersting. What puzzles me though about the reviewer giving it 5 stars and having watched it on DVD...... Its Nov 2007 and the film is not in cinemas till 7th Dec 2007 so how did they see it on DVD ?
Its not available on Amazon.com and DVDBoxoffice dont have it either ? Shady!
