Son of Frankenstein
Notable not solitary for being the third and immutable publication aside Karloff as Frankenstein's monster, but also serving as the die for the Mel Brooks spoof of Universal horror movies, Unfledged Frankenstein. Rathbone plays the title character, a gifted surgeon who returns to his dad's creepy laboratory and becomes obsessed with reanimating his creation, with the help of Ygor (Lugosi). While the screen sorely misses the guiding hand of concert-master Whale, it has enough of the old Universal atmosphere to be of drawn to. Sadly, the series was pretty much all downhill from this point onwards.
