Plot Summary:
|
After a cavalry league is massacred by the Cheyenne, barely two survivors be left: Honus, a naive restrictive devoted to his function, and Cresta, a young woman who had lived with the Cheyenne two years and whose sympathies lie more with them than with the US management. Together, they must try to reach the cavalry's main disreputable camp. As they treks onward, Honus is torn between his growing goodwill for Cresta, and his disgust for her anti-American beliefs. They reach the cavalry campsite on the eve of an disparagement on a Cheyenne village, where Honus command learn which side has absolu... tely been telling him the facts in fact.
While riding utterly the Cheyenne territory transporting a risk-free to Fort Reunion and protecting the white mate Cresta Marybelle Lee, who had lived in a Cheyenne village for two years and sympathize with them, the twenty-two men of the cavalry are attacked by the Indians. Not Cresta and the naive, Panglossian and unskilful particular Honus Gent survive, and together they walk to Fort Reunion, where Cresta is presumed to run across her fiancé Lieutenant McNair. Along their transit, Honus protects Cresta against Kiowa Indians, destroys the shipment of a distributor of weapons and falls in love fit Cresta, but he does not believe in Cresta words that the Cheyenne village is restful.
