Plot Summary:
|
Upon arrival at the space status orbiting an multitude people called Solaris a psychologist discovers that the commander of an expedition to the planet has died mysteriously. Other strange events soon start happening as well, such as the advent of old acquaintances of the team, including some who are dead.

Steven Soderbergh really is on a hiding to nothing with his adaptation of Solaris, originally a meditative 1961 sci-fi original from Nobel gain-taking founder Stanislaw Lem. Following in the mammoth footsteps of arthouse icon Andrei Tarkovsky, who produced a searing if huge withdraw on the novel in the early 70s, this is a project that promises to rile cineastes as much as Gus Van Sant's reshoot of Psycho.
