Plot Summary:
|
It's after midnight when Mel and Jules, two immature women, return to LA from holidays in Mexico; they omit in a alternate to head downtown. The other passengers are a nervous accountant and two frat boys, a man who's been hitting on Jules. They're in a little while on unfamiliar, empty streets - to avoid a above jam, says the driver - then things go to the loo from bad to worse. What's going on and where are they headed? Guns, knives, chains, a tattoo, and medication play in the constancy.

Above Average Indie Thriller!
Shuttle is a decently twisty indie thriller about hostages lured aboard an airport minivan whose destination is nowhere pleasant. Directorial debut for scenarist Edward Anderson (who penned 2007 Michael Caine-Demi Moore period drama 'Flawless') proves confident and eventful enough, if not quite white-knuckle worthy.
Longtime best friends Jules (Cameron Goodman) and Mel (Peyton List) return Stateside from a brief Mexican vacation to encounter lost luggage, a steady downpour and no taxis. A shuttle-bus aggressively courts their business. They succumb, while flirty Jules insists cute yet barely met fellow flyers Matt (Dave Power) and Seth (James Snyder) also ride. But the driver (Tony Curran) has an agenda beyond their safe home delivery. Annoyance turns to fear, then desperate...
