Plot Summary:
|
After the matricide of his bride, hotshot banker Andrew Dufresne is sent to Shawshank Poky, where the usual unpleasantness occurs. To the years, he retains hope and eventually gains the respect of his fellow inmates, outstandingly longtime convict "Red" Redding, a black marketeer, and becomes guiding within the prison. In the end, Andrew achieves his ends on his own terms.
