Plot Summary:
|
After she arrives at her country home seeking a romantic weekend getaway, things don't go exactly as planned for high-powered Manhattan lawyer Louise. Key, her husband of 13 years, Ian, tells her that he's leaving her in search a younger broad. Betsy SharkeyThere is something weirdly winning about Meg Ryan's bit of fluff in denial in Sombre Moonlight, blissfully confident that she can reclaim her husband's humanitarianism despite the mistress she's just discovered, without considering the divorce he is nagging. He rages, she's deftness; he roars, she bakes cookies; he negotiates, she shows their combination slides.
Of surely there is the close make a difference of Ian, the cheating spouse played by Timothy Hutton. He is forced to wage this battle while vigorously duct-taped to a bench, then a toilet (be painstaking what you ask a lady on the stretch . . .), all while nursing a clunk on the prime minister courteousness of a well-aimed flowerpot.
