Plot Summary:

Credo OF ROCK is a hilarious romp that parents will possess have a good time as much as their children. Jack Black stars as Dewey Finn, a wannabe rock prima donna who doesn't seem to be rocking much of anything these days. Kicked out of the border that he started and relative to to be kicked off of his apartment, Dewey pretends that he's his roommate Ned Schneebly (Mike Pallid) in order to astonish a job as a substitute lecturer. Arriving at an ultra unprogressive--and ultra expensive--prep school, Dewey manages to trick the uptight principal (Joan Cusack). Soon, he finds himself in a classroom with a bunch of fifth graders. Patently, Dewey has no intentions of teaching these kids anything, but when he discovers that a handful of them are dexterous musicians, a light bulb goes off in his head. Determined to enter the local engagement of the bands and win $25,000, Dewey embarks on his greatest mission of all: Teaching these kids how to rock! ... Chief Richard Linklater (DAZED AND Disconcerted, WAKING LIFE) delivers his most universally appealing film with Ready OF Finished. Written specifically in the service of Hellish by screenwriter/actor White, this outrageously delightful flock-pleaser elevates Sombre to superstar pre-eminence.

School of Rock, The
Jack Black stars as a wannabe rock 'n' roller who, masquerading as a substitute teacher, inspires his kids in the art of heavy riffing. Richard 'Slacker' Linklater directs from a script by Mike 'Chuck & Buck' White
Jack Black - loudmouth, comic actor, rock musician. Often, the films he appears in (High Fidelity, Orange County) constrain him, his robustly over-the-top persona straining at the seams. School Of Rock was created as a vehicle for Black, but it's still not entirely right. It's a kid's movie after all, and the louder, lewder side of Black is restrained. However, his energy is far from diminished.
Black plays Dewey Finn, a rocker whose over-the-top on-stage antics (impromptu guitar solos, stage-diving) get him kicked out of the band he formed...
School of Rock, The
Rough, amiable comedy in an knowledgeable-fashioned 'fail's commit on a show' style, enlivened by a few modern twists.
