Rio Lobo
It may be a mite saddle-weary, but John Wayne's model with vice-president Howard Hawks has a wonderful sense of western bring about, together with a mocking jocularity that lights up a impassive life story. Jorge Rivero and Bob's son, Chris Mitchum, play the Confederate looters snatching Accord gold, and Wayne is the colonel dispiriting to bargain the two-timer who's feeding advice to the robbers. Meanwhile, back of beyond trick-eyed Jack Elam looks askance at the whole business. It's leisurely, but the characters and circumstance commission a right impression.
Rio Lobo
Rambling Western with traces of former gratitude, enjoyable at least in compensation its get of humour.
