Strong Characters, Weak Plot
PUSH is a very watchable film thanks to it fluid pacing and race against time feel. Watching it though you can't help feel that the whole film is a 'setup' movie that is designed to spawn sequels given the amount of backstory we find out about each character during the course of the film. Whilst this was welcome considering characterisation in this genre isn't always a strength the plot noticeably suffers for this. An example of this is the complete lack of information given to the audience as to why an asian gang is involved and what their motives and link to the other characters are. Another note about the film seeming like a 'set-up' for a sequel is the numerous amounts of loose ends that aren't dealt with, including the wide open ending. The special effe...

A science fiction film that won't rock your world by any stretch of the imagination, which is a shame, they could have done a lot more with it, as it has a half decent cast. Basically a group of young Americans with telekinetic and clairvoyant abilities are hiding out in the far east from a clandestine U.S. government agency who stalk them continually for their powers. They eventually band together led by Nick Gant (Chris Evans) and Cassie Holmes (Dakota Fanning) and assisted by Kira Hudson ( Camilla Belle) in order to break free from the sinister Henry Carver (Djimon Hounsou) and the agency forever.
