Plot Summary:
|
A shy ladies' companion, staying in Monte Carlo with her stuffy proprietor, meets the wealthy Maxim de Winter. She and Max fall in love, league and restoring to Manderlay, his large homeland social status in Cornwall. Max is still troubled by the termination of his first better half, Rebecca, in a boating accident the year before. The support Mrs. de Winter clashes with the housekeeper, Mrs. Danvers, and discovers that Rebecca still has a peculiar hold on Dick at Manderlay.

The first of four collaborations between Alfred Hitchcock and David O. Selznick, the prominent producer of Gone With The Supremacy, was the setting for a differ of two titanic egos. They slugged it out for overall creative manage of the film, each complaining of interference from the other and both men stated that they had misgivings about the final results. They were honourable about the only doubters, how, as the screen proved to be a whack office smash as familiarly as garnering no fewer than 11 Oscar nominations (friendly two).
