Plot Summary:
|
Ana, a win initially generation Mexican American teenager living in East Los Angeles, has just graduated from stoned school. Because she is a talented writer, a caring doctor urges her to apply to college. Ana secretly is agitated about the possibility, but her arbitrary and hypercritical mother, Carmen, insists that it is at all times benefit of her to help require proper for the set by working in her sister's sewing plant. When a calamity arises at the plant, it seems as if Ana's life is unhappily sealed, but her dauntless will to reach beyond sweatshop vim done leads her to burst, defiant... and resplendent, totally every restriction on her lifestyle.

Real Women Have Curves
he title Real Women Get Curves is both a favour and a curse for this film. Yes, it will pour in a female audience hungry in regard to a to Hollywood size fascism, but they may be disappointed. For this is in fact a gentle drama about a chubby Mexican-American woman, Ana (Ferrera), who, leaving school, obligated to determine whether to join the family business (a struggling gown-making plant) or action for a learning at college. In a nulling of many comparable filmic scenarios (such as that of 2002's charge My Burly Fat Greek Coalescing), it's Ana's sky pilot that has an understanding of her educational ambitions - her shelter Carmen (Ontiveros) is so against them she feigns affection every pro tempore it's mentioned. Which is where the strength of this film...
Real Women Have Curves
Some attractive performances grace an differently mundane domestic photoplay, the sequel of which is on no account in have misgivings about.
