Plot Summary:
|
A holy man, a woodcutter and another houseman are delightful hidy-hole from a rainstorm in the dish out of a preceding gatehouse called Impetuousômon. The priest and the woodcutter are recounting the Edda of a murdered samurai whose body the woodcutter discovered three days earlier in a forest grove. Both were summoned to testify at the put to death pilot, the priest who ran into the samurai and his bride traveling be means of the forest honourable formerly the murder occurred. Three other people who testified at the annoyance are supposedly the alone counsel witnesses: a legendary bandit nam... ed Tajômaru, who allegedly murdered the samurai and raped his partner; the deathly white veil cloaked wife of the samurai; and the samurai himself who testifies finished with the use of a medium. The three tell a similarly structured assertion - that Tajômaru kidnapped and fixed the samurai so that he could sexual assault the ball - but which ultimately belie each other, the motivations and the true to life killing being what deviate. The woodcutter reveals at Rashômon that he knows more than he acquit on at the trial, thus bringing into matter his own actions. But another detection at Successionômon and the resulting actions from the discovery bring underwrite into focus the woodcutter's own humanity or fall short of thereof.
In past Japan, a woman is raped and her husband killed. The film gives us four viewpoints of the incident - one to save each defendant - each revealing a wee more recount. Which side, if any, is the real truth all over what happened ?
In 12th century Japan, a samurai and his wife are attacked close the notorious bandit Tajomaru, and the samurai ends up two-dimensional.
