Plot Summary:
|
Mark is an intelligent but cowardly teenager who has only moved to Arizona from the East Coast. His parents give him a petite-wave radio so he can talk to his pals, but in preference to he sets up shop as pirate deejay Hard Harry, who becomes a male lead to his peers while inspiring the wrath of the local grave high school chairwoman. When one of Harry's listeners commits suicide and Harry- inspired chaos breaks loophole at the school, the authorities are called in to set forth a stop to Harry's broadcasts.

Pump Up the Volume
Teenage mutiny of rare conviction. Near day Mark (Christian Slater) is a self-conscious, studious Immature Yorker lost in suburban Arizona, hugging the shadows at Hubert Humphrey High. But there's fire in the boy's heart, an idealism that his once-radical invent (Paulin) could not endorse, and at Cimmerian dark Notice becomes a rabble electrifying freebooter DJ who inspires empowerment within the student body with teen anthems and solutions to their minor angst. But when his vigorous advice oversteps the mark he finds himself faced with the nonetheless arbitration that stumped his sire - to give away out or keep it loud. Slater's convincing show and verve elevate this from just another 90s bratpack film to something to date more forceful.
