Plot Summary:
|
West Property irrelevant graduate lieutenant Jeff Knight meets cynicism when taking command of sergeant Michael McNamara's tour veterans platoon in a Vietnamese trench camp. Unlike his forefather, who hid cash-box the vacillating of his outing, Jeff takes charge, experiences the manual doesn't allow coping with all realities and gets wounded. He returns, once in a blue moon fully respect via men and superiors. On top of everything else the Vietcong, the patrol wrestles with the inscrutable villagers, which the GIs officially preserve, but also tremble as some collaborate with them, other cove... rtly with the Cong, either concede lay open to bloody reprisals.
