Plot Summary:
|
Mike cannot choose what is official and what isn't, and is plagued by vivid nightmares. He gets the shock of his life when he watches, with binoculars, the conclusion of the funeral of his older pal's adherent--the mortician (the Incredible Man), by himself, lifts the casket into the back of a hearse. Mike heads to the grounds of the mortuary, which is cuttingly to very much bizarre happenings, including a unique custody device. Enlisting the alleviate of brother Jody and ice cream salesman Reggie, Mike attempts to vanquish the Tall Man.

An ominous, lanky undertaker; scary dwarves; a flying, head-drilling ball; a severed finger that turns into a giant insect; an ending that makes you go "Huh?" Don Coscarelli's film is nothing if not novel. It also happens to be cheapo rubbish, which developed a cult following.
Born in Libya but raised in Southern California, Coscarelli started work on the film in 1977 and made it on just less than $300,000.
