Penitentiary
A current entrant into the annals of blaxploitation flicks, this film revels in the mad machismo of a prison populated mainly by black bullies. It's a depraved surroundings where the fist rules and the unsubstantial become bitches for the cogent. Wrongly convicted, Kennedy is jostle into the cauldron with nothing but his indignation, some streetwise nous and a respectable rectitude collar to keep him from the ultimate shaming. But encouraged by the pugilistic know-how of a chap prisoner he develops into the meanest mother in the stall-impede to come compelling his bloody revenge. Appalling brutality, sanguinary stereotypes, top-grade entertainment.
