In the isolated, frozen village of Barrow, Alaska, Iñupiaq teenagers Qalli and Aivaaq take grown up brothers in a tight-join community defined as much around olden traditions as at near hip-proceed and snowmobiles. Beginning a specific morning, on a seal hunt with their moll James, a tussle turns violent, and James is killed. Lose one's bottle stricken, terrified, and with no one-liner to recrimination but themselves, Qalli and Aivaaq lie and decree the undoing a tragic accident. As Barrow roils with grief and his watchful get becomes misconstruction, Qalli stumbles through blame-filled ... days, wrestling with his piece in the death.
