Plot Summary:
|
Disenchanted with the always drudge of crushing rocks on a prison farm in Mississippi, the stylish, heraldry argent-tongued Ulysses Everett McGill busts loose. Except he's still shackled to his two chain-mates from the string gang -- bad-tempered Pete and kind-hearted, dimwitted Delmar. With nothing to yield and buried loot to regain -- preceding the time when it's lost forever in a flood -- the three emplane on the adventure of a lifetime in this hilarious offbeat road show. Populated with extraordinary characters, including a cover prophet, flirtatious sirens and a the same-eyed Bible sales... man, it's an odyssey filled with chases, close calls, intimate misses and disclosure that want set off you laughing at every indelicate and surprising angle and arc.

O Brother, Where Art Thou?
The Coen brothers set Homer in the Deep South during the Depression. A working men's saga featuring a blind seer, a one eyed con artist, sirens, a beat-up truck and a cow-hating armed robber
Homer, as far as we know, wasn't famous for his comedy. Nor were most of the people who have been inspired by his 'Odyssey' - James Joyce, the Frenchmen who made the sci-fi cartoon 'Ulysses 31'. But the Coen brothers are. They've taken the basic plot points and characters from Homer's epic, set them in the Deep South during the Depression, and borrowed the title that a pretentious director was going to use for his working man's saga in Preston Sturges's classic comedy Sullivan's Travels.
On the run from the chain gang, Everett Ulysses McGill (Clooney), Pete Hogwal...
Marvellous, Different and Hilarious
Set during the Great Depression, this movie follows three convicts as they escape from prison and set about trying to find buried treasure. The three characters encounter a variety of adventures along the way and their convincing stupidity makes it all the more funny. There is a whole plethora of gospel songs throughout which make you feel really good and make you want to buy the soundtrack. This movie is far different to anything else you might find and I thoroughly recommend it if you want a break from the usual movies available out there.
