Nightmare Alley
Nightmare Alley has gained romantic prominence amongst aficionados of bleak 1940s cinema. Partly because of the power of the fib, but also thanks to a prolonged lack from the separate (enough to a rights velitation between the producers and 20th Century Fox) and the macabre fates of some of its supreme contributors while the film mouldered in the vaults (crashes, burns, deaths - click on FilmFact more details). Fortunately the contractual problems were resolved in time due to the fact that a cleaned up understanding of the print to be released in 2005 and it's once again admissible to judge the motion picture on its own merits.
