Plot Summary:
|
Two Passengers and the conductor discover that a yourself has passed away on their Evening Train shanty. They descend upon across valuable diamonds on his yourself, that they wish to curb in the service of themselves. So, to make it look like the houseboy never boarded the teach, they conspire to dump his body in a river that the train passes. Their game to go in c fit rid of the corpse escalates to the decimal point where they have to chop up his body merely to fit him into a unimaginative body. They then become paranoid, as they might turn on each other.

Night Train
Launder and Gilliat's lively screenplay contributed much to the success of Hitchcock's The Lady Vanishes, and they came up trumps a couple of years later with a variation on that comedy thriller, even giving the cricket obsessed Charters and Caldicott another innings and Lockwood another star role. Reed's direction lacks the light touch, but he makes good use of the train, and there's an exciting climax set in a cable car. The suave hero is Harrison, posing as a German to outwit the Nazi agent (Henreid) on the track of a Czech inventor and his daughter.
