Mutiny on the Bounty
This side of the famous naval threaten from Lewis Milestone is a memorable successor to the Oscar-amiable 1935 silent picture. Milestone deserves acclaim payment surviving unremitting re-shoots and difficulties caused by Marlon Brando's temperament: "I was as nearly to a nervous run-down as I've ever been," said the experienced director, who made his name with All Quiet on the Western Front in 1930. Though unsettled, Brando's accomplishment as Fletcher Christian is stimulating as he moves from arrogant fop to high-spirited leading man, despite his fairly strangulated English accent. Trevor Howard is select as the cruel Captain Bligh, but the Tahiti rest is a organization definitely to be missed.
