Plot Summary:
|
The preschool professor Sarah (Diane Lane) divorced from her lover husband eight moths ago, but she is hushed perfect vulnerable and alone. Her one's own flesh presses her to manage a new Mr. Accurate, and her sister Carol (Elizabeth Perkins) puts her silhouette on the area PerfectMatch.com. She has screen dates with rare guys, but she in particular likes Jake (John Cusack), who divorced three months ago and still misses his former wife. Jake likes her too, but Sarah has bromide night stand with Bob (Dermot Mulroney), the procreate of one of her students, and Jake gives-up on her. Later Sarah... finds that Jake is her perfect match.

Hmm, John Cusack
Well John Cusack hasn't really made a good movie in the last 10 years... this doesn't turn things around. Mindless and full of cheese with extra cheese on top.
There are better ways to spend 90 minutes.
At least it's a family movie.
Must Love Dogs
Two 40-ish adults encounter each other in the minefield of post-divorce dating. Will they hit it off? Romantic comedy starring Diane Lane and John Cusack
The faux vox pops that appear in the opening credits of Must Love Dogs aren't exactly promising. Nor is the cheery banter of the large Irish-American family gathered to commiserate with Sarah Nolan (Lane), a 40-ish teacher who has recently divorced. The rushed introduction of several characters, the family chit-chat (they're there for an "intervention", to suggest some new men for her), the tone, it all feels somewhat contrived. It's not helped that the other key protagonist, Jake (Cusack), is presented as a quirky, wholesome type who hand-makes wooden rowing sculls (which never sell).
